Larry R. ("Rocky") McElhaney II is the principal and founding member of RML. He is a 1999 honors graduate of Nashville School of Law. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from UT-Knoxville in 1995 and his Associates of Science from Walters State Community College in 1993. He was born and raised in Morristown, a small town in East Tennessee.
In 2008 and continuing, Rocky was invited to be a member of the National Trial Lawyers Association which limits its membership to the Top 100 trial lawyers in each state. Rocky was named 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Best of the Bar by the Nashville Business Journal, a distinction for the top lawyers in Nashville. He is a member of the Tennessee Association for Justice where he serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors and the American Association for Justice. In 2009, Mr. McElhaney founded and co-chaired TAJ's Workers Compensation Practice Group. From 1998, Mr. McElhaney served on the Board of Directors of the Nashville Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, serving as President for 2006-2007. He served an instructor of Intro to Law and Legal Writing at the Nashville School of Law from 2005-2008. In 2011, Rocky was named to the list of Mid-South Super Lawyers as a Rising Star. He frequently lectures on workers' compensation and trial related issues. He has argued before the Tennessee Supreme Court six times, establishing and clarifying significant issues of law.

Russell Belk

Russell is the senior associate attorney at RML. He has worked with RML since June of 2006. Russell worked at RML as a law clerk during the day and attended law school at night from 2006 - 2009. He was raised in Sweetwater, Tennessee. Russell obtained his Associate of Science degree from Cleveland State Community College in 2002 where he also played basketball. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee Knoxville earning a B.A. degree in 2004. Russell graduated from the Nashville School of Law in 2009 with honors ranked 6th in his class and earned membership in the Cooper's Inn Honor Society. While in law school, Russell was a student member of the Harry Phillips American Inn of Court in 2009. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court in the Middle District of Tennessee. Russell focuses his practice on representing injured people in personal injury and workers' compensation cases. He is a member of the Tennessee Association for Justice, the Nashville Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice.

Steven Fifield
Steve is an associate attorney at RML. He earned his undergraduate degree with honors from Western Michigan University in 2005 obtaining a B.A. in Political Science and English. At Western Michigan, Steve served as captain of the mock trial team. He is a 2009 graduate of the Michigan State University College of Law where he served as an associate editor of the Journal of Medicine & Law. Steve was also co-founder of the Law and Economics Society while at Michigan State. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Steve focuses his practice on representing injured people in personal injury and workers' compensation cases. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association.
Taylor Sutherland
Taylor Sutherland has worked as an associate attorney at RML since September 2011. Before joining RML, Taylor was in private practice in Nashville with a focus on catastrophic injury auto, premises liability, liquor liability and medical malpractice cases. He is a fifth generation Nashvillian and graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy. In 2004, Taylor graduated cum laude from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee with a B.A. in English. While at Sewanee, Taylor was a member of the Order of Gownsmen academic honor society and the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. In 2007, Taylor graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School. During his time at Vanderbilt, Taylor was on the staff of the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law and was a research assistant for an article published in the Columbia Law Review. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and has argued successfully before the Tennessee Court of Appeals. Taylor focuses his practice on representing injured people in personal injury cases. He is a member of the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations as well as the Tennessee and American Associations for Justice.

Office Staff
Dena Gibson
Dena is the senior paralegal and office manager at the Rocky McElhaney Law Firm. She has worked at RML since 2006, and is the lead paralegal on most of Rocky's cases. Dena is the primary point of contact for her clients and provides services and support on workers' compensation cases and personal injury cases from the start of the case through its conclusion. Dena's job duties include answering phone calls, drafting legal documents, scheduling matters, and managing the day-to-day operations of the office from an administrative standpoint. Dena is also in charge of special projects assigned to her by Rocky and is the primary contact for all of Rocky's General Motors cases.
Anna Carrithers
Anna is a paralegal at RML. She has been with RML since February of 2007. Anna was raised in Collierville, Tennessee. She obtained her Associates in Paralegal Studies from Northwest Mississippi Community College in 2005. Anna is the primary paralegal assigned to all of Russell Belk's cases. She provides litigation support on workers' compensation cases and personal injury cases. Anna's various duties include being the main contact for clients, answering phone calls, drafting legal documents, ordering medical records, organizing files, scheduling matters and case managing the files from start to finish.
Kimberly Owens
Kimberly is the litigation support paralegal for Rocky. She is in charge of managing personal injury, workers' compensation, and other cases that are in litigation and moving them toward a resolution. Kimberly's job duties include drafting legal documents, answering phone calls, scheduling matters and assisting Rocky with numerous assignments and projects. Kimberly has been with the firm since April of 2008. She earned A.S. degrees in Paralegal Studies and Criminal Justice from Draughons Junior College (now known as Daymar Institute). Kimberly maintained a 4.0 GPA and perfect attendance in her pursuit of these two degrees. She has 10 years of experience as a paralegal in the Middle Tennessee area. Kimberly was born in the Nashville area and lives in Mt. Juliet with her husband.
Justin Hight
Justin was hired as the law clerk for RML in March of 2010. He earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from Tennessee Tech in 2007. Justin is currently a student at the Nashville School of Law where he is ranked in the top 10 in his class. Justin works at RML during the day and attends law school classes at night. His job duties include being the main contact for clients, managing cases from intake to conclusion, legal research, drafting legal documents, answering phone calls, ordering medical records, organizing files and ensuring the cases move to a swift resolution. He is a student member of the Tennessee Association for Justice.
Heather Schafer
Heather is an associate litigation support attorney at RML. She attended the Washington University in St. Louis where she earned her B.A. in Political Science and Biomedical Physics. Heather is a 2009 graduate of the Michigan State University College of Law.
