Rocky began representing accident victims at the age of 27. By 28 he was a partner in a successful injury and accident practice. That same year, he settled his first multi-million dollar case. Trial Skills
Rocky is a trial lawyer. If you need an aggressive advocate in a courtroom or with an insurance claim, you need a lawyer and law firm experienced in civil trial work. RML has the litigation experience and skills to obtain a positive result for injured persons.
Being a trial lawyer does not mean that every case must be taken to trial. Case Management
RML appreciates that its clients are not in the business of having injuries or prosecuting personal injury cases. Injury and accident victims are already stressed by their unfortunate situation, including mounting medical bills, lost wages and worry from an insurance company. The clients of RML can expect case management that will resolve their case in a timely fashion. Our experience and success allows RML to concentrate on issues that will provide positive net results for our clients.
We utilize the special skills of paralegals and case managers to assist Rocky and his associates to properly and promptly prepare cases for settlement, if possible, or trial, if necessary. Rocky’s trained, competent and qualified legal assistants also help to ensure that client calls are retuned quickly and client questions answered expeditiously. RML wants its clients to be in touch with the case and informed about developments. Copies of documents and letters are routinely provided to the client as status updates.
Technology
RML powers its cases with the latest in legal technology. We use a highly sophisticated case management software program that helps us keep cases on track. Using the latest, interoffice network server and software, every member of the RML team has access to every client file and all case information while seated at his/her desk. Each lawyer has all case information available to him at his desk.
When preparing a case for trial, RML utilizes videotaped depositions and PowerPoint presentations. We use amazing trial software that allows us to click a bar code and instantly find and show any important documents or video clips to a jury. In catastrophic injury or death cases, we often prepare and digitally record accident re-enactments to show juries and insurance adjusters exactly how our clients were injured or killed. In some cases, we also employ accident reconstruction experts and computer animated designers to recreate accidents.
RML tirelessly seeks new technology that allows us to obtain adequate compensation for our injury and accident clients. By striving to be better prepared, we become better lawyers. This helps RML represent its clients in the manner they deserve to be represented.
Teamwork
Rocky McElhaney is the “captain of the ship” at RML, and he is involved in every aspect of a client’s case – strategy, settlement negotiations, litigation, and trial preparation. The trained and highly skilled “first mates” at RML have the responsibility or communicating with the clients and coordinating the various aspects of a case.
The “first mates” are the associates, paralegals, law clerks and case managers who work closely with Rocky to provide excellent legal services for the clients of RML. From the first client meeting until the case is closed, two or more RML team members are assigned to and work on each case. Many times, one of the “first mates” is involved in the initial client meeting. This allows the client to meet the team members and to gain confidence in their abilities.
By using teamwork, RML is able to provide a higher level of legal service in a timely and cost-effective manner.
