What Does It Mean to be Permanently and Totally Disabled Under Workers’ Compensation?

In Tennessee, there are two kinds of disability benefits under workers’ compensation. One is permanent partial disability, and the other is permanent and total disability. If you are permanently and totally disabled under workers’ compensation, that means you’ve been injured so bad that you can no longer return to any type of gainful employment. It gives you benefits ’til age 67, which you are then qualified for your Social Security disability. This is the highest awarded disability under workers’ compensation in Tennessee. It takes skilled lawyers to prove a permanent and total disability case.

At Rocky McElhaney Law Firm, we’ve tried a number of these perm total cases and been successful for our clients. If you need help in your workers’ compensation case, call us at 615-425-2500 or log on to
