ANDREA STILGENBAUER

Attorney

Andrea grew up in a suburb of Detroit and is a die-hard Detroit Red Wings fan. Andrea’s parents taught her about hard work at a young age and guided Andrea to get a job as a waitress when she was in high school.

At that time, working in the hospitality industry made sense and it was a good fit.  Andrea really enjoyed the hustle of being in service to others, and she loved getting to know folks from all walks of life — so much so, that she continued serving with the same company across 3 different states while in school.

Andrea moved to Tennessee to attend Tennessee Tech University and play on their women’s soccer team. As a division 1 college athlete, Andrea developed a better understanding of commitment, time management, and what teamwork is  all about.

After obtaining her degree from TTU, Andrea attended law school at the University of South Carolina. While in law school, she served as a class representative for the Student Bar Association and as a peer mentor for incoming law students. Andrea also studied Bioethics at Yale University.

The field of personal injury is not for every young lawyer but for Andrea, getting to serve real people who need guidance, support, and a friend in their corner was already in her wheelhouse.  So, after graduating from Law School, Andrea enthusiastically accepted a position with a firm in Nashville handling workers’ compensation and personal injury cases. There, she quickly found her footing and passion for helping seriously injured people and their families fight back and against the big insurance companies who sought to devalue their claims.

At one time, Andrea had a client who, like many, had fallen on hard times because of his injuries.  He was about to lose his house.  Andea fought tirelessly to get him the settlement he deserved in time to save his home from foreclosure. Her path to success for her clients and herself is paved with life-changing stories just like that.  That undeniable compassion, consistent track record, and instinctual desire to stand up for what is fair and what is right make up the essential ingredients required to become one of Rocky McElhaney Law Firm’s elite staff of talented attorneys.  It was no wonder that in June of 2021, Andrea was invited to join the gladiators in suits in their mission to fight for injury victims in need across Tennessee and Southeast.

When she is not working, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband, Tayler, live in Hendersonville with their beautiful daughter, Isla, and their dog, Tucker. Andrea enjoys running and  bingo night at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
