“Develop enough courage so that you can stand up for yourself and then stand up for somebody else.”
— Maya Angelou
Tina is a native Tennessean who grew up in a rural part of the state, a fact that contributed greatly to her love of all-things-outdoors. Tina was raised by a strong single mother alongside her three siblings. As the middle child, Tina quickly learned the importance of standing up for herself and of “being heard.”
Tina’s extremely humble beginnings taught her the value and necessity of hard work at an early age and bred in her a determination to succeed. That determination and never-give-up attitude drove Tina to pursue an education despite the challenges. She paid her own way through college, and later law school, by working as a paralegal in law firms and corporate legal departments, becoming the first person in her family to earn a college degree. But Tina did not stop there.
With her inquisitive nature and her eagerness to learn the how and why of things, rather than simply accepting things for what they are, Tina developed a natural interest in a legal career early in her education. She worked full-time during the day and attended law school at night, again paying her own way and fulfilling her dream of earning her law degree from Nashville School of Law.
After several years of legal work in the field of Risk Management, Tina recognized she wanted more from her career. She wanted to make a difference in the lives of others and to share in the sense of fulfillment that kind of meaningful work provides. Tina longed to use her experience and legal talent to help clients who both deserved and needed good representation. After much consideration, Tina felt her calling was to become a plaintiff attorney, to stand up and fight for injured victims and to make sure their voices were heard. She found a home at Rocky McElhaney Law Firm, the perfect place for a fighter like her.
Tina’s vast risk management and defense experience gives her unique and powerful insights into the strategies often used by big corporations and insurance companies. Today, she uses those insights combined with her experience, talent, and the dogged determination that has helped her reach so many prior goals, to stand-up and fight to gain the justice her clients deserve.
In her free time, Tina enjoys all types of outdoor activities, going to the gym, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their two cats.
