About the award
The “Best Places to Work” award celebrates companies in Middle Tennessee that successfully create outstanding work environments. There are a number of requirements that employers must meet, and a list of criteria on which they are evaluated. The process starts with public nominations. Next, employees of nominated companies must complete an anonymous survey on Quantum Workplace. That survey looks at six areas, including:
- Trust in leadership
- Communication and resources
- Individual needs
- Personal engagement
- Team dynamics
- Manager effectiveness
To be eligible, companies must also have branch offices in one or more of the ten counties that make up the greater Nashville area (Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson). Each nominee must employ a minimum of ten people before the Nashville Business Journal will consider them.
